Calvary Strings group will perform at the August 13th Outdoor Worship Service. Service will be held in the Pavilion at 10am. Calvary Strings is a group of musicians from the Canton area. It began at Calvary Presbyterian Church as a trio of students at Glen Oak High School. It has evolved over seven years to an ensemble of six members. They accompany two choral cantatas a year, perform independently for churches and nursing homes, and have played twice for the Canton Interfaith Thanksgiving Service. Their repertoire contains no specific genre and includes both sacred and secular pieces. Membership is open to anyone who has the appropriate skills and would like to be part of a group that plays for the joy of making music. Bob DeMass, the director of Calvary Strings, is the person who was "instrumental" in putting in our new organ a few years ago. The group will be playing some special music and accompanying our hymn singing throughout the service.
