We will welcome Charlie, Elizabeth, Emerson and Kennedy to adult membership at St. Jacob’s in the Celebration of Confirmation during worship on Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Confirmation, like everything during Covid, has been a challenge for our staff and Confirmands. However, with help from Pastor Kyle, Krista and now Pastor Angel, we have been able to help our Confirmation Kids move toward celebrating Confirmation Sunday!
These four youth will finish their confirmation classes on May 2nd. Then, within the next month, we will work on a service project with the Migrant Center implementing the plans of the Migrant Center team to re-design the library in their building which serves children and adults.
Please be sure to mark your calendars and join us for a combined Pentecost and Confirmation Sunday on May 23rd. Worship will be live-streamed and in-person in the pavilion with Covid precautions in place including social distancing and masks. Even though we are not able to hug the kids in our joy of welcome, we can bring a card of congratulations to share with these wonderful youth! Baskets will be available for cards, or you are welcome to drop cards in the office prior to May 23rd.
It has been a challenging year, and we are so proud of the commitment of these young people and their families to learning God’s Word, furthering their understanding of what it means to be a Lutheran Christian, and serving others in and outside our congregation.
